VIDEO Dakar Rally: Laia Sanz Interview

Spanish Honda superstar finishes fifth in stage 8 and moves inside top 10 overall.

Stage 8 was crucial for the competitors of the 2015 Dakar Rally. Race leader Joan Barreda had many problems and finished (with Honda teammates Helder Rodriques and Jeremias Israel Esquerre) three hours behind new overall first-place Marc Coma on a KTM. Officially, 15 riders abandoned the race due in part to the harsh mix of salt and water on the Salar de Uyuni—the world's largest salt flat—in Bolivia. Fellow factory Honda rider Laia Sanz also suffered ("It was so cold!"), but she managed to overcome the difficulties to place fifth in the 502-mile stage. American Johnny Campbell stopped by to congratulate Sanz, and he also answered a few questions about recent day's events.
