Born after the collapse of Buell Motorcycles, which was owned by Harley-Davidson until the division was shut down in 2009, Erik Buell’s rebound was EBR (Erik Buell Racing). The company’s first offerings were ultra-expensive, low-production volume bikes like the EBR 1190RS, which sold for $40,000. EBR followed that model with the 2014 EBR 1190RX at less than half the cost, and then the EBR 1190SX naked superbike. Liquid Asset Partners of Grand Rapids, Michigan, now owns the rights to the EBR business and plans to start production again in 2016. Erik Buell fans keep your fingers crossed; maybe this will be the rebirth the company needed.
