AMA Press Release:
During this time last year, Josh Herrin was coming off of several very successful AMA Pro GoPro Daytona SportBike seasons and gearing up for his first ever stint in AMA Pro National Guard SuperBike competition. Yet the young star had many people wondering how he would handle the pressure of riding alongside the best riders in the sport. After a lackluster performance during Race 1 at Daytona International Speedway last year, the question marks amplified. However, with the exception of minor hiccups at Infineon Raceway and Homestead-Miami Speedway, the Californian turned all of his skeptics in to believers with 14 top-five finishes in 18 total starts.
Herrin flanks teammate and GEICO AMA Pro Road Racing superstar Josh Hayes. The two Monster Energy Graves Yamaha riders arguably make up the most explosive tandem on the circuit and look to be a perennial powerhouse for 2013 and years to come on their Yamaha R1’s.
Between Herrin and Hayes, the two piled up 32 top-five finishes in 2012, with Hayes winning the AMA Pro National Guard SuperBike Championship and Herrin taking fourth in the overall point standings.
