At INTERMOT, Suzuki took the wraps off a new V-Strom, the 650XT ABS. In short, the excellent 90-degree V-twin of the new 650XT has been tuned for maximum torque and a very smooth power delivery. Cam profiles and timing have been altered specifically for this purpose, and the twin-sparkplug cylinder heads contribute to more thorough combustion, which means cleaner exhaust and better fuel economy. The Suzuki twin-butterfly airflow control system and new 10-hole injectors also contribute to the 650XT's smooth throttle response.
The new chassis is an evolved version of the V-Strom’s previous aluminum frame, but now featuring an extruded aluminum swingarm and elegant wire wheels in place of the cast ones. As such, the new 2015 Suzuki V-Strom 650XT, which weighs a claimed 474 lb. is a sensible multi-purpose bike. Seat height is an acceptable 32.8 inches, and the well-designed fairing has an adjustable windscreen.
