DYNO VIDEO: 2015 Honda CBR300R

Honda’s entry-level CBR300R sportbike spins our dyno roller. Let’s see how it compares with the CBR250R.

Any idea how much power the 286cc single in the 2015 Honda CBR300R produces? Well, Road Test Editor Don Canet recently tested the little Honda on our Dynojet dynamometer and found that it generates 27 horsepower at 8,400 rpm and 18.4 pound-feet of torque at 6,700 rpm. How does that compare to the Honda CBR250R? We tested one in 2012, and we found that it produced 23.7 hp at 9,900 rpm and 12.7 pound-feet of torque at 7,400 rpm. So, it’s clear that that extra displacement has helped the little Honda. It has gained 3.3 horsepower and 5.7 pound-feet of torque, and both peaks are reached at lower rpm. Although the CBR300R represents a 12 percent increase in displacement, it has 14 percent more horsepower and almost 45 percent more torque. Impressive.
