2016 MV Agusta F3 RC - FIRST LOOK REVIEW

While we are all looking forward to the unveiling of a redesigned MV Agusta F4 at EICMA this fall, the new Reparto Corse (Racing Department) edition of the F3 deserves a look. Although the F3 RC mainly is a graphics effort, it's totally inspired by the bikes that fought for the World SuperSport title until Friday, September 18, the date that MV Agusta's top rider, Jules Cluzel, crashed during free practice a Jerez and suffered physical damages that put him out of contention for the rest of the season. Still, MV Agusta F3 has a shot at the Manufacturers title, thanks to the points collected by Cluzel and teammate Lorenzo Zanetti, the second factory rider, who keeps scoring rather brilliantly.

Racing aide, the MV Agusta F3 in civilian clothing is the hottest performing middleweight sportbike in production today. And the limited-production RC edition is a legitimate celebration of this MV Agusta’s superior qualities: engine performance potential (particularly in 800cc form), chassis response, safety, and the fit, finish and quality of its components.

The graphics accurately duplicate those of factory racers, and they include the AMG logo and the signatures of both Cluzel and Zanetti. From a technical point of view, the bikes have stock tuning, their three-cylinder engines delivering a claimed 128 hp in 675cc form and 148 hp as an 800.

Act quickly, because the 2016 MV Agusta F3 RC will be limited to 350 numbered units: 100 in 675cc form, and 250 in 800cc versions. They go on sale in Italy, priced at 16,600 and 17,210 euros, respectively. Each delivery will be accompanied by a plaque signed by MV Agusta CEO Giovanni Castiglioni.
