Cycle World, together with AMA Pro Racing and RPM Racing, is once again bringing you live video of the Superprestigio Dirt Track from Barcelona, Spain. Coverage on CycleWorld.com begins Saturday, December 12, at 9:00 a.m. Pacific Standard Time.

Seven-time AMA Pro Grand National Champion Chris Carr, along with World Superbike announcer Gregory Haines, is calling the action, which includes an eight-rider winner-take-all SuperFinal.

Like the previous two events, Superprestigio Dirt Track III features top road-racing, flat-track, motocross, off-road, speedway, and supermoto talent—nine world champions included—all on single-cylinder motocross-based machines shod with 17-inch Michelin rain tires.

The riders compete on a 200-meter dirt oval in the Palau Sant Jordi—one of the main venues for the 1992 Summer Olympics—and if this year’s 16-lap SuperFinal is anything like the previous two 12-lappers, the action is sure to be fast and furious.

At the pre-race media event, RPM Racing CEO Jaime Alguersuari underlined the cooperation of the riders. “Without you,” he said,” it will impossible to host this event. Barcelona is the only city in the world that has put Marc Márquez, Jared Mees, and Brad Baker under the same roof.”

Alguersuari also asked for a special ovation for Kenny Noyes, who is recovering from injuries sustained in a racing accident earlier this year. The 2014 FIM CEV Repsol European Superbike champion was third in both previous SuperFinals.

Fellow Americans Mees and Baker are expected to battle against the likes of Marquez, Tony Elias, Jordi Torres, Joonas Kylmäkorpi, and Masatoshi Ohmori. In an exciting new twist, Baker has agreed to participate in a “drifting” contest with Ohmori and Juame Gaya.

“I’m excited to come back,” Mees said. “I was testing at Rancho Canudas and the bike felt awesome. The lap extension for the SuperFinal is very good news. Having Brad on track this year will made things tougher.”

Baker crashed practicing for last December’s event. “Last year I had no option but to become a witness to the duel between Márquez and Mees,” he said. “I have been testing for two weeks, helping Kenny Noyes at Rancho Canudas, so I’m extra prepared for this year’s race.”
