2016 Triumph Thruxton R - DYNO TEST

Thruxton thrust on the Cycle World dyno.

Neo-retro and café-inspired bikes are all the rage these days. The Thruxton R 1200cc parallel-twin and Bonneville chassis (with sporting upgrades) lend naturally to this niche and do so with no poser pretense. This liquid-cooled sohc eight-valve mill is tuned for torque as evident in its peak output at 3,730 rpm with minimal torque roll-off over the remaining 3,500 rpm. Short shifts are the best way to play when looking to get the most out of this soul-stirring British twin.
