Husqvarna pulled the wraps off the 2020 Svartpilen 401 and Vitpilen 401 at the 2019 EICMA Show in Milan, highlighting changes on both models aimed at improving passenger comfort. Minor? Yes. Paint finishes and graphics, however, make the new models easily distinguishable.
Each model receives a new subframe for the 2020 model year, which has been extended by 40mm (1.6 inches). The new component is said to improve passenger rider comfort in case you’re out for a two-up excursion. Or date night. The rest of the chassis, however, remains identical, including the steel trellis frame and adjustable WP suspension.
Both the Svartpilen 401 and Vitpilen 401 continue on with the 373cc single-cylinder powerplant, which has proven worthy with 41.4 hp at 8,740 rpm and 26.4 pound-feet at 6,880 rpm on the Cycle World dyno in previous model years.
The 2020 model year doesn't mean much for the Svartpilen 401 or Vitpilen 401, but minor improvements and visual tweaks help the platform hold its status. Plus, your passenger will be a happy camper.
