Video: Grant Langston Rides The Alta Motors Redshift MX At Pala Raceway

There’s fear in the unfamiliar. So, it’s little surprise that when former AMA 450cc motocross champion Grant Langston showed up to test the Alta Motors Redshift MX electric bike, his mind went straight to, “Will I even be able to ride it?”

We were at Pala Raceway, and Langston was quick to note the obvious omission of a clutch lever. “My riding style is always with my fingers on the clutch. I’ve always used the throttle, the clutch, the brakes—dragging them—my whole life,” he said.

The next few moments would be spent wrapping his head around it all, but it didn't take long. Within minutes, Langston was up to speed and tearing through ruts on the Redshift MX. What were his thoughts on the bike? How challenging was the transition from gas to electric? Was the weight an issue?
