In Ducati’s Multistrada V4 range, the Rally version is the fully loaded, round-the-world all-rounder. For starters, the Rally uses a larger 7.9-gallon fuel tank instead of the 5.8-gallon tank on other Multi models. For improved off-road credibility, the Rally has longer-stroke suspension with an extra 1.2 inches in the front and 0.8 inch in the rear, giving 7.9 inches of travel front and rear. Ducati’s minimum preload function allows riders to dial out the shock’s preload with the touch of a button, dropping the rear end for an easier reach to the ground. A higher and wider windscreen and tubeless spoked wheels further mark out the Rally’s far-flung aspirations.
Rather than nickel and dime you for the requisite appurtenances for your adventure, Ducati outfits the Rally with aluminum panniers, heated grips, heated rider and passenger seats, a centerstand, and an engine guard. Despite weighing a claimed 573 pounds (wet), our testers were won over by its sporty handling on the street and impressive capability off-road, where its excellent electronic rider aids really come to the fore. Like the rest of the Multistrada V4 family (excluding the RS), the Rally uses the Granturismo V-4 engine, good for a claimed 170 hp at 10,750 rpm and 89.2 lb.-ft. of torque at 8,750 rpm, and makes use of top-flight tech like adaptive cruise control, blind spot detection, and smartphone mirroring. The Rally is built for wherever the road takes you.
The 2024 Multistrada V4 Rally has an MSRP of $30,595 for Ducati Red; the Brushed Aluminum and Matte Black colorway is $500 extra. For a more road-focused tourer, Ducati offers the V4 S Grand Tour ($28,395), which has alloy wheels, the standard 5.8-gallon tank, a centerstand, auxiliary lights, and side cases.
