The 2025 Ducati Streetfighter V2 S.Ducati

Overview

Two years following the debut of the brilliant and bonkers Streetfighter V4 in 2020, Ducati released the Streetfighter V2, a more affordable and, dare we say, friendlier interpretation of the naked bike formula. For 2025, Ducati is releasing the all-new Streetfighter V2, which is faithful to the original formula (take sportbike, remove fairings), while being potentially more congenial to street riding than it’s ever been.

It all comes down to the 2025 Panigale V2 on which it’s based. The Streetfighter is basically a fairing-less Panigale V2 with a wide handlebar and altered chassis geometry. A 1.2-inch longer swingarm puts more weight on the front end to compensate for the bike’s more upright ergos; more relaxed rake and trail figures also contribute to a 1.1-inch longer wheelbase. Both motorcycles use Ducati’s new desmo-less V2 engine platform, which produces a claimed 120 hp in this sporting guise, while open-handedly laying down 70 percent of its peak torque value at a mere 3,000 rpm. OK, the previous generation’s Superquadro engine made some 35 hp more, but achieving four-cylinder-like peak figures was what its lopsided bore-and-stroke ratio (large bore, short stroke) was designed to do. Ducati sort of forced the issue in its quest for power, however, sacrificing midrange torque, one of the inherent virtues—and beloved performance characteristics—of its racing-derived twins. The new V2 powerplant evidently goes the opposite direction, promising to make for an exhilarating streetbike—especially so considering it’s an impressive 40 pounds lighter than its predecessor (the engine alone is 21.7 pounds lighter than the Superquadro).

As you’d expect from a premium motorcycle, the Streetfighter passes muster on the hardware and software fronts with top-notch electronic rider aids, high-spec Brembo M50 calipers, and on the S model, Öhlins suspension. So while it’s based on a sportbike, thanks to the V2 engine, the Streetfighter V2 is a very different beast than its predecessor—and potentially a more natural fit for the street.

Pricing and Variants

The 2025 Streetfighter V2 is available in two versions: the base model ($14,995) and the S model ($17,995). The base model comes as a two-seater version and uses fully adjustable suspension from Marzzochi and KYB. The single-seater S model uses an Öhlins NIX 30 fork and Öhlins monoshock. It also uses a lighter lithium-ion battery, and is equipped with a pit lane limiter and launch control.

The aluminum monocoque frame weighs just 4 kilograms (8.8 pounds) and doubles as the airbox.Ducati
