Ghost Works XR69 Replica Build Film

Eirik Nielsen’s industrial-design company builds a bike for the Phillip Island International Challenge.

In 2015, Eirik Nielsen raced in a secondary class at the Phillip Island Classic. He was hooked, and after evaluating the machines that won The Challenge, decided that a Ghost Works XR69 replica stuffed with Yamaha FJ power had to be built, and he had to race it in the International Challenge of 2016.

Ghost Works is Nielsen’s industrial-design company and usually designs athletic footwear, but as a “passion-driven” company, the jump to race-bike building was quickly made… and as you will see, beautifully made.

If my earlier columns on the Phillip Island International Challenge wetted your appetite, this film will have you booking tickets to Australia for next January's Classic. Nielsen raced this XR well and grabbed one of the coveted top-five points-scoring spots on the American team.
