Overview

When it comes to blending the worlds of motocross competition and off-road racing, think of the KTM XC line as the “in-between” choice. Based on the SX (or SX-F) platform of the purebred motocrossers, the XC cross-country models are a tactful hybrid that can still easily run on the motocross track, but have a select number of modifications that make life easier on the other side of the fence. An 18-inch rear wheel, kickstand, hand guards, larger fuel tank, and six-speed gearbox are among the distinctions you’ll find on the 2025 KTM 300 XC, and the most notable chassis difference, the WP Xact closed-cartridge coil-spring fork (as opposed to the air fork of the SX).

Like all of KTM’s two-strokes, the 300 XC is fuel injected, featuring the throttle body injection (TBI) Keihin EFI system, which replaced the less-popular transfer port injection (TPI) system in last year’s overhaul. Electric start, a handlebar-mounted engine map switch, Brembo clutch and brake hydraulics, and lightweight lithium-ion battery are standard. For 2025, the KTM 300 XC receives an updated frame, revised suspension, new linkage, and new bodywork and graphics.
