MV Agusta is out to offer the ultimate performance and aggression with the recently unveiled Rush 1000. The model is MV's exercise in engineering and represents the outright potential of the already-potent Brutale 1000 RR.
The 998cc engine features a revised combustion chamber to extract maximum power and torque from the four-valves-per-cylinder design, while complying to the latest Euro 5 emission standards. The Rush 1000 claims to generate 208 hp at 13,000 rpm in standard trim, but also an absurd 212 hp at 13,600 rpm with a non-homologated exhaust and dedicated ECU mapping. Torque hits an impressive peak of 86.3 pound-feet at 11,000 rpm, with a very flat curve reaching down below 4,000 rpm. The induction system utilizes two injectors per cylinder, the lower injectors being Mikuni units and showerhead injectors being Magnetti Marelli.
The engine is harnessed by the same Brutale 1000 RR chassis, but extensive use of CNC-machined aluminum, titanium components, and carbon fiber elements contribute to weight reduction, dropping the Rush 1000 to a claimed 405 pounds dry. Other intriguing elements of the new model include a forged-aluminum rear wheel housed in a ventilated carbon fiber cover for aerodynamic performance, while the front wheel is spoked. Semi-active Öhlins suspension units handle damping needs, while top-shelf Brembo Stylema Monoblock calipers bring the MV to a stop.
Likewise, an electronic rider-aid suite manages the Rush 1000's ride. A six-axis inertial measurement unit feeds data to traction control, wheelie control, and cornering ABS systems, while the bike also gets a up-and-down quickshifter.
MV Agusta’s Rush 1000 represents the pinnacle of the brand’s naked bike performance. Boosted horsepower, carbon fiber and titanium bits, and top-shelf suspension and braking components—how much more could we ask for?
