The 2016 Motul 800cc Onirika 2853 is the bike of fantasies with a name deriving from the French ‘onirique’ meaning dreamlike. The 2853 would mark the 1,000th year since Motul’s establishment. The concept bike seeks to unite the past, present and future of the 163-year-old company: the wheels hark back to classic cars of old, and the front braking system and grill are have an evocative industrial style. The bike is being offered as a work of art, and does not yet run. The creation is equipped with a state-of-the-art fingerprint recognition concept (currently a design feature only) and a handcrafted aluminum fuel tank finished in a unique gear pattern which echoes throughout the bike. Its cast-iron grey color, gear-shaped fuel cap and detailed textures all pay homage to the extensive history of Motul’s motoring experiences. It is estimated at 25,000-30,000 euros.
The Motul Corazón Foundation, which is under the aegis of Fondation de France, has remained close to its founding company’s craft. “The Motul Corazón Foundation has chosen to help disadvantaged adolescents on all continents to train themselves in mechanical and technical fields, where they can passionately build their professional future”, stated Foundation President Michel Rivoire. Having sponsored over 20 projects around the globe, the foundation will use the proceeds from the sale to support future projects in helping adolescents overcome barriers.
