Gallery: Yamaha's World Supersport Tease Is Our First Taste of the 2017 YZF-R6 in Race Trim

At the EICMA show in Italy, Yamaha is displaying this "Race Ready" YZF-R6 to showcase the new bike and to announce its intentions of competing in next year's World Supersport Championship —and my gosh is it gorgeous.

While nothing is set in stone, Yamaha decked this particular YZF-R6 out in a variety of race parts to give us a peek into the future of Yamaha’s World Supersport program — and what you can do with your own 2017 R6 when the time comes. To get this bike’s build started, it was fitted with an Akrapovic Evo full-titanium exhaust, ADVICS front brake calipers with Brembo T-Drive discs, a Brembo rear caliper, race bodywork, and World Supersport spec Pirelli race rubber; but we expect to see much more in the coming months.
