The 2016 North West 200 races welcomed some of the worlds best road racers with sunshine, to Ireland’s largest outdoor sporting event. Thursday kicked off with Gearlink Kawasaki’s Alastair Seeley becoming the most successful North West 200 winner, overtaking Robert Dunlop’s record of 15 wins with a superb performance.

Ian Hutchinson and Martin Jessopp flanked Seeley on the podium, making it an all K-Tech one-two-three. Saturday saw Seeley win Supersport race two, with Jessopp second, both using K-Tech DDS Pro shock and DDS cartridge kits. Peter Hickman was a close third.

The only Superbike race to run saw a win for a determined Michael Dunlop, with K-Tech supported Tyco BMW’s Hutchinson second and Michael Rutter third on his Bathams/ SMT BMW S1000RR. Hutchy had his best success in the Superstock 1000 race, winning over Hickman and Seeley and setting a new lap record in the process aboard the Tyco BMW.

However the day was dealt the heaviest of blows when news came of the loss of Malachi Mitchell-Thomas in the Supertwins race. Malachi was a rising talent and a welcome face in the paddocks. He will be sorely missed and K-Tech suspension and Sport Rider would like to pass on their heart-felt condolences to his friends and family at this time.
