Action and static images of the updated Hypermotard and Hypermotard SP

Ducati has updated all three models in the Hypermotard lineup for 2016 - the base Hypermotard, the SP and the Hyperstrada. Scroll through the images here to see the SP in action, and to learn more about the updates for the bike.

The Hypermotard's new, larger 937cc engine meets Euro 4 emissions standards, and features Ducati's Testastretta 11-degree technology. It's rated at 113 horsepower, slightly up from the previous version's 110 and torque has been increased by 10 percent.Courtesy of Ducati
The chassis is unchanged from the previous model, and features the Ducati Safety Pack, 3-level ABS, traction control and riding modes. This is the base Hypermotard, which is available in red or white.Courtesy of Ducati
The SP version (shown here) features a host of upgrades from the standard Hypermotard: three-spoke Marchesini forged wheels, a 50mm Ohlins fork, Ohlins shock, radial-pump front brake master cylinder and various carbon fiber parts.Courtesy of Ducati
The SP is available in the red/white Ducati Corse color scheme. The standard model wears Pirelli Diablo Rosso II tires, while the SP gets Pirelli Supercorsa SP tires.Courtesy of Ducati
The new engine has an increased bore, to 94mm from 88mm. The stroke remains the same; the crankshaft has a larger, 42mm diameter crank pin, and the pistons, cylinders and cylinder heads are new. The compression ratio has been raised from 12.8:1 to 13.1:1.Courtesy of Ducati
The 2-into-1 exhaust system has been completely redesigned with 50mm diameter tubes, an exhaust valve, and a new silencer. Service intervals are 30,000km, or 18,000 miles.Courtesy of Ducati
The steel tube frame has a 25.5-degree rake and 104mm of trail; the subframe is die-cast and incorporates a "techno-polymer mid-section." The Hypermotard is equipped with 320mm Brembo discs with four-piston radial-mount Brembo Monoblock M4-32 calipers.
