We aren’t afraid to confess that we are excited at the unveiling of the 2017 Honda CBR1000RR SP and SP2. It’s been eight years since Honda has introduced a new literbike, and since then the company’s current-generation CBR1000RR has slowly fallen behind its enemies of various manufacturers. However, the unveiling of the 2017 CBR at Intermot marks the day of Honda taking a step forward in the literbike class, with hopes of once again ruling it.

There’s a lot to be excited about with the the 2017 Honda CBR1000RR —it’s lighter, more powerful, and adopts a few rider aids it has been lacking in the past few years. Actually it is adopting the important ones like several riding modes, traction control, cornering ABS, engine braking control, and quickshifter — which will help the keep the CBR’s added 10 horsepower in check. The chassis also received several revisions that help contribute to the motorcycle’s claimed weight loss of 33 pounds over the previous generation SP ABS model.

But this page isn’t all about the details and spec sheet, it’s about the photos. So scroll through the photos below to check out more of the 2017 Honda CBR1000RR in a way you may not have seen yet.
