KTM has unveiled an updated 1290 Super Duke R that might be more of a missile than a motorcycle —which makes us want to ride it that much more. To start the revamping of an already beast, KTM engineers decided to first work on the styling and ergonomics. The updates (and fun), however, actually only begin with the styling. It’s the revised powerplant that makes this bike the missile we oh so want to ride. 2017 1290 Super Duke R first lookCourtesy of KTM

Two decades ago, the original DUKE was nothing short of revolutionary. KTM’s first single-cylinder street bike grew into a cult classic, adding extreme fun to a raw and radical concept. The 2017 KTM 690 DUKE stays faithful to its ancestor’s ways but boasts impressive smoothness, sophisticated electronics, comfortable ergonomics and an unbelievably powerful single cylinder powerplant producing 74 hp.Courtesy of KTM
KTM RC 390 - $NA
Engine: L-C 4V 373 single | Seat Height: 32.3 in. | Claimed Dry Weight: 323 lb.
Wheelbase: 52.8 in. | Rake: 23.5° | Trail: NAmm | Fuel Capacity: 2.6 gal.
Opposite the small-displacement competition, KTM’s RC 390 was imagined first and foremost as a trackbike and then designed to work as a streetbike. It has steeper steering geometry than the 390 Duke, a 43mm fork with more aggressive damping settings, and footpegs that’ve been moved inward for more cornering clearance. Perhaps the coolest feature: a passenger seat that’s disguised as a cowling, with grab handles on the underside. 2015 RC 390 first look | 2015 RC 390 first ride | Comparison testCourtesy of KTM

KTM's lightweight naked bike, the 390 Duke, has been updated for 2017 with bold new styling and performance to match. The new look includes an LED headlight and TFT dashboard, larger fuel tank and redesigned seat. Mechanically, ride-by-wire throttle has been added for smoother and more controllable power output, the front end features a new 43mm WP inverted fork and larger, 320mm brake rotor, and cornering clearance has been increased thanks to a new side-mount exhaust system. 2017 390 Duke first lookCourtesy of KTM
