MotoGP: Czech Republic Grand Prix In Photos

A look through the lens at all the on- and off-track action at Brno

It’s never a dull moment in the MotoGP World Championship. And this year’s Czech Republic Grand Prix at Brno was no exception. For the first time in the venue’s Grand Prix history it was a rain race. So there was a lot of speculation as to how it would play out…

Well, it was no surprise that strategy and tire choice would come into play, as well as the fact that it was a more even playing field than the usual factory domination. But would anyone have guessed that Cal Crutchlow would take top honors on his LCR Honda? Crutchlow did. He rolled the dice, chose the right tires and fought his way to the front to take a dominant victory, more than seven seconds over multi-time World Champion Valentino Rossi. Below is a look at the Czech Grand Prix in all its glory.

A wet track may be a great equalizer, but it also takes guts to gamble with a different tire choice than the rest of the lot. Cal Crutchlow certainly reaped those rewards at Brno, putting the factory riders to shame at the Czech Republic Grand Prix.Photo Courtesy of Michelin
Ducs in a row… At first it looked like it was going to be a Ducati sweep with Andrea Iannone (29), Scott Redding (45) and Andrea Dovizioso (04) up front with a healthy gap.Photo Courtesy of Ducati

Pedrosa in the end still fared better than reigning champ Jorge Lorenzo (pictured). The Movistar Yamaha rider had the same tire choice as Rossi, but cooked his front tire and opted to come in and change tires, dooming Lorenzo to 17th.Photo Courtesy of MotoGP
