Since its inception, KTM has kept much of its MotoGP project behind closed doors, but now the Austrian company is allowing us to poke our noses into its factory race shop with this quick video documenting the RC16’s engine development.
While the company doesn’t hand out any real secrets of the project, it does reveal an interesting simulation test of the engine on a dyno. The team appears to use real-world testing data to perfectly simulate lapping the Mugello circuit not only to improve performance and rideability, but durability as well. Obviously KTM has some tricks up its sleeve and has proven so by dominating the Moto3 class all year long. We can’t wait to see how the MotoGP project fares when the team makes its debut at the season finale at Valencia... With this amount of work, it’s got to be good.
Until then, this quick video is all we have and we aren’t complaining. Just listen to that V-4 scream!
