In recent years, the TV coverage of MotoAmerica (previously AMA Superbike) has been scarce, if there was even coverage at all. Having to choose between watching live streaming or a week-delayed recording of the races may have raised the question if you even wanted to watch. Had you watched, you may agree that the program itself wasn’t up to par. The program’s seemingly-scripted commentary and lack of excitement made watching, quite honestly, boring.
Just days before the opening round of 2016, MotoAmerica reached an agreement with beIN SPORTS Network to cover the 2016 MotoAmerica Championship on live TV. While we were excited at the news, we were still afraid we’d be let down once again.
Lucky for us, MotoAmerica and beIN SPORTS delivered exactly what we were hoping for. The broadcast team including Jason Pridmore, former AMA champion, brings the audience inside the race with exciting commentary, interviews, and back stories to the series among other features. It’s easy to say that beIN SPORTS has our eyes glued to American road racing for the first time since, well… too many years to count.
If you don’t already have beIN SPORTS as a part of your TV package at home, it’s certainly worth a call to your TV provider to add on. It’s that good.
Here’s a clip of beIN’s TV coverage from Superbike Race 2 at Road Atlanta that we can't stop replaying. Press play and tell us what you think of this year's coverage.
