The Harley-Davidson Road Glide Special is a classic, fixed-fairing American touring V-twin. Nuff said. Powering the Road Glide Special is Harley-Davidson’s eight-valve Milwaukee-Eight 114 engine, while a Showa Dual Bending Valve fork and adjustable rear shock keep things smooth going down the road. Equipped to this particular model is Harley’s new-for-2020 Reflex Defensive Rider Systems (RDRS) electronic rider-aid suite—an additional $995 feature—which includes Cornering Enhanced ABS (C-ABS), Cornering Enhanced Traction Control System (C-TCS), Drag-Torque Slip Control System (DSCS), Vehicle Hold Control (VHC), and more.
We strapped the Harley-Davidson to our in-house dyno ahead of a shootout with the all-new Indian Challenger, recording horsepower and torque measurements. The Road Glide Special produced 76.13 hp at 4,810 rpm and 108.29 pound-feet of torque at 2,670 rpm.
