A Vespa is as much a fashion icon as it is a practical form of transportation, and make no mistake, it does a good job at occupying both roles simultaneously. Through the years, artists and luminaries in fashion have associated their names with Vespa and collaborated to create exclusive, highly personalized versions of the scooter. Giorgio Armani and Christian Dior are two of the world-famous names which come to mind.
Canadian pop icon Justin Bieber is the latest to design an exclusive edition. In this instance the subject is Vespa Sprint characterized by a rigorous, monochromatic white color scheme. On the Justin Bieber signature execution, the Sprint comes in solid white, seat trim included. Even the handgrips are white; only the engine and the exhaust system poking out from under the right side remain in their basic black. Ontario native Bieber loves Vespa, and he describes his first ride aboard the scooter as a very cool experience that triggered his artistic creativity; we look forward to seeing evidence of this.
The Justin Bieber limited edition will be offered in the traditional three displacement classes of 50cc, 125cc, and 150cc. The light, neat Vespa Sprint by Justin Bieber rolls on 12-inch wheels and sports a hybrid braking system, front disc and rear drum. Lighting system is full LED tech and the TFT instrumentation display acts as a smartphone connectivity center. The all-white color scheme includes a Justin Bieber signature flame graphic at the base of the classic side covers.
We eagerly await Vespas designed by Canadian pop superstars such as Rufus Wainwright or, if we’re exceptionally lucky, staff favorite Carly Rae Jepsen. Meanwhile, if you’re a Belieber, Vespa has a bike for you.
