The 2020 Harley-Davidson Roadster is a blend of the company’s performance-oriented past and the modern-day custom scene, right down to the 1,200cc Evolution powerplant, chopped rear fender, emblematic peanut-shaped fuel tank. Rolling on a 19-inch front and a 18-inch rear wheel and touted with café styling, this Sportster is a fit for the urban rider. MSRP starts at $11,499.
Cycle World contributor Joseph Gustafson took his first ride aboard the Harley-Davidson Roadster in 2016, noting that the platform is a potent and enticing platform. “Should you buy it? If you are looking for the best-handling new Sportster, then you should get it. At $11,200 [2016 price] it's a relative bargain in the Sportster lineup considering the extra braking power and improved suspension, plus you get those striking split-five-spoke cast wheels.”
The Roadster’s competition includes the Triumph Thruxton R, BMW R nineT, and Yamaha XSR900. CW put all four of these head to head in a 2016 comparison.
For 2020, Harley-Davidson Roadster’s iconic tank gets a fresh set of graphics: Vivid Black, Black Denim, Stone Washed White Pearl, and Performance Orange.
