The 2020 Zero FX is an electric dual sport motorcycle that is powered by Zero’s Z-force powertrain. It has a claimed range of 46 city miles and 28 highway miles (at 55 mph) and a claimed top speed of 85 mph. Interested buyers in the base model (equipped with the ZF3.6 Modular battery) will spend $8,995. Investing in the larger-capacity ZF7.2 battery will cost an additional $2,000, but boosts range significantly. The single-speed transmission makes this EV a valid option for those navigating technical off-road terrain because managing clutch technique is not necessary; just twist the wrist and go.
We reviewed the Zero FX6.5 back in 2017. The Cake Kalk is one of the FX’s competitors, and a first ride review of the 2018 Cake Kalk Limited Edition can be found here.
For 2020, the Zero FX is updated with new graphics in the Dune colorway.
