MV Agusta Reveals 2022-23 Reparto Corse Models

Three MVs get new looks and hotter specs.

MV Agusta has renewed its range of limited-edition Reparto Corse models, a shrewd marketing move that puts extra glitter on models the company needs to make a stronger point on the market. The Reparto Corse practice started years back as the brainchild of the late Claudio Castiglioni as a way to revitalize the image of the F4. Three rather different MV Agusta models of the three-cylinder 800cc generation, the Dragster, F3, and Turismo Veloce, will get the treatment for 2022–2023.

These bikes may have contrasting personalities, but they all look sharp and unmistakably MV Agusta in their tricolore graphics jobs. All Reparto Corse executions will come in numbered limited editions, 200 for the F3 and 300 of both the Dragster and Turismo Veloce. As always, these special executions are mechanically standard models that get special component packages and are assembled and finished separately.

Turismo Veloce RC

All Turismo Veloce Reparto Corses come with the Smart Clutch System (SCS) developed by US-based Rekluse and refined by MV Agusta. The automatic clutch enhances the performance potential of the milder 110 hp version of MV Agusta’s 800cc three-cylinder unit, enabling crisp acceleration from standing starts thanks to its launch control response. It may not be the most powerful unit, but this version of the MV Agusta 800cc three has solid torque delivery, with a curve that hits 59 lb.-ft. at 6,000 rpm and stays above that past 9,000 rpm. The Turismo Veloce unit has been refreshed by the adoption of high-pressure injectors and a new exhaust system hosting a larger catalytic converter to comply with Euro 5.

The Turismo Veloce RC combines aggressive graphics with relaxed-looking rear bags, while a new and more comfortable seat should make long-range hauls more comfortable, especially in combination with a new larger windshield with an improved profile.

On a more sophisticated note, electronics and electronically managed components play a big role in the RC upgrade of Turismo Veloce, notably the new Sachs electronically managed semi-active suspensions. These new units are under the control of the new inertial platform, which also manages the traction control function. The Continental MK 100 ABS system is not a total novelty, but receives improvements to its cornering brake modulation. A new 5.5-inch TFT instrumentation display acts as a connectivity center for GPS and Bluetooth phone connection, navigation system, and cruise control.

Dragster RC

The Dragster is a sort of intermediate class hyper-naked with a big personality, much of it coming from the spare rear section where its fat exposed 200/55-17 radial juts out from under a slim seat. That seat’s as good a place to start as any, as it’s been re-padded with a more advanced material for superior comfort.

Up front the main difference is a flatter handlebar with foldable rearview mirrors at the ends. As with the Turismo Veloce, the Dragster RC comes equipped with the SCS automatic clutch paired to the 140 hp edition of the MV Agusta 800 three. This combination results in impressive acceleration numbers from standing thanks to a launch control program delivering 0–100 kph in 3.5 seconds and 0–200 kph in just a tick over 10.

Along with its aggressive RC graphics, the 300 numbered units in the RC edition get forged aluminum wheels, a carbon fiber rear fender, and like the Turismo Veloce, a new electronics suite, inertial platform, Continental MK 100 ABS, new instrumentation, and an LED technology headlight.

To emphasize the Reparto Corse spirit of the Dragster, MV Agusta also offers a racing kit based around an SC-Project exhaust system that bumps the peak power up to 150 hp at 12,300 rpm. The racing kit comes complete with a new ECU and a certification confirming the actual power output.

F3 RC

The F3 might be considered the true Reparto Corse model, encapsulating as it does MV Agusta’s racing tradition and spirit beginning with the RC graphics emblazoned on the full fairing. The F3 Reparto Corse features CNC-machined footpegs and handlebar levers, an Alcantara-and-leather trimmed seat, new five-spoke forged aluminum wheels, a carbon fiber front fender and upper spoiler and, fascinatingly, outer and inner fairing shells with aerodynamic winglets that create additional downforce. A new twin-flow oil radiator contributes to a lower working temperature for the lubricant and the engine.

That engine generates 147 hp at 13,000 rpm and deserves special attention, especially in the Racing Kit edition that includes an Akrapovič exhaust system and generates 155 hp at 13,500 rpm. This requires a specialized ECU and related mapping, and also comes complete with carbon fiber silencer terminal and cover.
